Trigger Point TherapyA trigger point is a tiny knot of muscles that form when the muscles are overworked or injured. The knots can be painful at their exact location or the pain can be referred to different areas throughout the body.

Pain Stop Clinic – North Phoenix offers two types of trigger point treatments: Trigger Point Injections and Trigger Point Therapy. They are very different from one another, but both have the same goal: to stop your pain.

Trigger Point Injections

Our medical doctors and team perform our trigger point injections. The injections are composed of low-dose steroid and a local anesthetic. The steroid is used to reduce inflammation and the anesthetic to reduce the pain. The purpose of the injection is to provide pain relief while allowing the muscle to relax and heal. The procedure only takes a few minutes and the injection site can remain sore for up to two weeks. But, ultimately, the pain relief is substantial.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point TreatmentsOur massage therapists perform trigger point therapy. The therapy is performed to identify, treat and ease the source of the pain through a series of isolated pressure and release techniques. The purpose of this therapy is to release constricted areas in the muscle, which in turn alleviates the pain.
